Demba Ba joins Turkish giants Bekistas
Demba Ba has completed a transfer from Chelsea to Turkish giants Besiktas for a reported fee of £4.7m after passing a medical this morning in Istanbul.
The Senegalese forward leaves following a season-and-a-half spell with the Blues, having moved to Stamford Bridge from Newcastle United in January 2013.
The 29-year old fell further down the pecking order following the arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. Ba was used predominantly as an impact substitute during the first few months of 2014, including in the 1-0 win at Manchester City, Ba came off the bench to score a brace in our 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
A statement on Chelsea’s website read: “Everybody at Chelsea Football Club would like to thank Demba for his service and wish him all the best for the future.”
