A campaign, organised by Grassroots Football, has been set up to send 8-year-old England fan Kasabian Newton-Smith, from Sheffield, ‘1 last smile’.
The young football fan was diagnosed with cancer as a toddler and has two brain tumours.
With that being said, football teams, players, and other sporting individuals, have been asked to tweet with #1LastSmile4Kasabian, holding one finger in the air and smiling for a photograph.
Billy Sharp, who plays for Sheffield United, has been heavily involved with the campaign and recently tweeted picture of both Wayne Rooney and Adam Lallana, supporting Kasabian by holding one finger in the air.
Sharp then tweeted a picture of him and Chris Basham visiting the brave, young boy at his home and captioned the picture: “Me and bash had the privilege of meeting this absolute warrior today in KASABIAN. #1LastSmile4Kasabian”.
