Former Eaglets player dies



Former Nigeria international Peter Ogaba has sadly passed on aged 41, the Nigerian Football Federation announced on Friday.


The late Ogaba died on Friday at Asokoro General Hospital after a brief illness which started on Wednesday.

He was the youngest Nigerian player at the FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia in 1989 where Nigeria lost in the final to eventual winners, Portugal.

He was also the youngest player to feature at the FIFA Under 17 World Cup at Canada ’87 at age 13, after he was discovered at the National School Festival in Minna in 1986.

Until his death Ogaba was coach of an Abuja-based side City Strikers FC.
