6 Nigerian celebrities we have lost this year

2016 isn’t shaping up to be a good year for the Nigerian entertainment scene.


Just 6 months into the new year and the Nigerian entertainment industry has already suffered several losses. Entertainers are a group of celebrities everyone loves and respects.

This set of people provide an avenue for many Nigerians to relax. If we had our way, we will keep them around for many years to come. But death is no respecter of wishes.

Here are some entertainers we’ve lost so far this year:

1.  Nomoreloss
We lost Nomoreloss early this year to Typhoid fever. He is known for hit songs like Iyawo Asiko, Oro re etc.

2.  Henrietta Kosoko
Veteran actress, Henrietta Kosoko recently passed away at the age of 52. She has featured in many Yoruba movies. She is survived by her children and husband, Jide Kosoko

3.  OJB Jezreel
Musician and producer, OJB passed away a few days ago. OJB battled kidney disease and survived. He is known for producing Tuface’s African Queen as well as songs like Searching, Pretete etc.

4.  Mike Odachi
Nollywood lost a gem in the person of Mile Odachie in February this year. He appeared in films like Prophet of Doom among others.

5.  Genevieve Nene
Video model and actress, Genevieve Nene passed away a few months ago. Her cause of death is believed to be typhoid fever. She appeared in films like Hottest Strippers, Romantic Heart etc. She also featured in videos with stars like Reekado Banks, May D, Pasuma etc.

6.  Sikiru Adesina aka Arakangudu 
Popular Yoruba movie actor, Arakangudu died in January. He is survived by wives and children. He disappeared from the acting scene after an undisclosed illness.
