Samuel Umtiti has settled in really well at Barcelona since moving there from Lyon in a €25 million deal in the summer.
The French defender showed his quality with the national team in the Euros before the season started.
He’s carried that form with him in his early days in Spain. Another commanding and assured display against Manchester City last night had fans singing his praises.
His Barca teammate Rafinha posted a video to social media of Umtiti’s reaction to a fan tribute. The squad appear to be out for dinner when Umtiti is shown a photoshopped picture of him with Carles Puyol’s hair. The legendary Barcelona defender is almost as well known for his barnet as his achievements on the pitch. He sported an iconic mop synonymous with 80’s rock bands.
Understandably, the current Barca centre-half cracked up.
